Dr. Deepika Chopra holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, with a special interest in Health and Wellness. In her clinical training, Dr. Chopra studied the connection between mind/body and Innovative Cognitive Behavioral strategies. Passionate about all aspects of wellbeing, Dr. Chopra is devoted to making wellness more attainable and accessible from both a private and public health standpoint.
Dr. Chopra has a special interest and completed her formal dissertation on the topic of OPTIMISM and it’s relation to optimal wellbeing. With a special training in anxiety reduction, Dr. Chopra specialized in working with medical patients at UCLA to decrease their anxiety before and during surgeries and associated treatments while innovating ways to increase their positive outlook. Dr. Chopra has also worked extensively during her training with clients to decrease their anticipatory anxiety and increase their positive motivations and expectations related to upcoming meetings, proposals, auditions, lectures and sports events, utilizing innovative cognitive techniques including guided visual imagery, motivational learning, learned optimism and positive future-based anticipation intentional work.
Dr. Chopra has been invited as a keynote speaker for many conferences and special events, including the LIVESTRONG foundation and at Oxford University in the UK. Dr. Chopra completed a double formal post doctoral fellowship at two of the most acclaimed and prestigious hospitals: UCLA Medical and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
In addition to her training in clinical psychology, Dr. Chopra has found success in the corporate world, as an investment banker and has held various positions within the healthcare field. Dr. Chopra currently serves as a consultant to various health care companies improving medical products and health platforms for patients and the general public health.
As a wellness connoisseur, Dr. Chopra is constantly studying, researching and experimenting within all aspects of increasing optimal health, happiness and prosperity. Dr. Chopra writes for The Well List and contributes to MindBodyGreen.com and UCLA's Healthy Campus Initiative!
Currently, Dr. Chopra does not practice as a" traditional clinical psychologist" but, rather as a Optimism Coach and is able to work with clients all over the world, either face to face at her Los Angeles based practice or via video conferencing.
